New Water Security Business Unit: Marc Dobro to lead SenseGuard GmbH

Düsseldorf/Tokyo (January 25, 2021) – LIXIL today announced the creation of a new business unit focusing on water security business effective January 14, 2021.The new SenseGuard GmbH will be led by Marc Dobro as Leader, SenseGuard, LIXIL, who will also serve as Managing Director for the new unit. Marc Dobro has been with LIXIL since 2013 and is currently serving as Leader of M&A and Business Development, leading the M&A team which has significantly focused and reshaped the LIXIL portfolio over the past year with a series of transactions, such as the sale of Permasteelisa. The new business unit will be headquartered in Düsseldorf and will have a global presence in key markets with a focus on new business opportunities, primarily with the insurance industry.

GROHE Sense and GROHE SenseGuard Protect Your Home
The GROHE Sense & SenseGuard system consists of the water sensor GROHE Sense and the control unit GROHE SenseGuard. Launched in 2017, the water sensor measures room temperature and humidity, detects floods, and sends an automatic alert to the smartphone app when things go wrong. The smart water controller, GROHE SenseGuard, measures the system temperature to indicate the risk of frost, detects leaks and shuts off the water supply automatically in the event of an alert. Together, GROHE Sense and GROHE SenseGuard protect homes from unpleasant surprises caused by water pipes.
