Düsseldorf, 10th September 2019. Since 1994, GROHE has been continuously expanding its plant in Porta Westfalica, evolving it into a competence centre for sanitary technology. Over the past four years, GROHE has invested around three million euros in the site. With the production start of the new Rapid SLX concealed installation, the Porta Westfalica plant has a new figurehead in a future-proof market segment. "I am delighted to be producing such a highlight in the GROHE portfolio here at Porta Westfalica with the new Rapid SLX. The market for installation systems is growing steadily and thanks to the integrated flow manager that can be easily adjusted without having to remove the drain valve and additional water and electricity connections for easy retrofitting of a shower toilet we offer clear advantages over the competition," explains Peter Brendecke, Plant Manager Porta Westfalica.

A Solution for Today …
GROHE is a reliable partner to the craft industry and with its new Rapid SLX concealed installation, the global brand is offering a product solution that makes the work of installers easier, today and in the future: In addition to GROHE’s easy to install features and the generously dimensioned ergonomic access to the flushing system adjustments are possible in no time, while all of the connections can be easily accessed. The integrated flow manager is a particularly useful feature that makes it easy to regulate the flush flow intensity. Even after the installation and completion of the bathroom, the strength of the flush can be readjusted within a few seconds without removing the drain valve, resulting in the new frame allowing a perfect interaction between flushing and a rimless toilet, without causing unwanted splashing and overflowing during the flushing process.

… and Tomorrow
The GROHE Rapid SLX installation system features flexibility far beyond the original installation: Next to the flow manager the new frame features empty pipes for water and electric lines, making it possible to install a shower toilet at a later time. The universal water connection and the already integrated socked can be accessed via an opening behind the ceramic, making any extensive structural interventions unnecessary.

GROHE Ensures Maximum Flexibility Even in Front of the Wall
In addition to the concealed installation, flush plates are available in two sizes, which are also manufactured in Porta Westfalica. With just 5mm, the small flush plates are extremely flat and the ideal solution for a timeless, yet aesthetic bathroom design. Each size is available in three designs and twelve colours. "Rapid SLX, in conjunction with our flush plates, stands for flexible product solutions from Porta Westfalica that help sanitary specialists and planners around the world offer their customers even more opportunities in individual bathroom design," concludes Peter Brendecke.

Innovative Manufacturing Made in Germany
As technology leader, GROHE invests heavily in the continuous expansion of its five production sites worldwide. The AV1 assembly unit is one of the technical innovations at the GROHE plant in Porta Westfalica. This state-of-the-art production line, which includes eight linked injection moulding machines and an intelligent rail system for material supplies, manufactures, among other things, parts for the new generation of installation systems. With a lead time of 15 minutes from granule to finished product, GROHE can almost double its production capacity. Investments are also being made in terms of infrastructure: A cafeteria, for example, is currently being built at GROHE's Porta Westfalica site and it will open its doors to employees on 1 October, 2019.
