GROHE to sponsor international best apprentices contest
Düsseldorf, Germany, 23. August 2019. Apprentices from more than 60 countries show how good they are in their respective craft at the WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russia. GROHE, on site with their GROHE XXL Experience Truck, is Bronze sponsor and supports the competition's main objective: to make the diversity and opportunities of apprenticeships visible, to get young people excited about the craft industry and to show how important good vocational training is for both economic growth and personal success.
Just like the craft sector in the rest of Europe, Russia too is struggling with a shortage of skilled professionals. Michael Mager, GROHE Executive Director HR & Organization, explains: "The event is a tribute to show appreciation of the craft industry. The competition focuses on exciting job opportunities and career perspectives the craft sector has to offer. Innovative materials and products as well as new, digital efforts make the sanitary industry, in particular, more attractive and future-proof than ever for young talents."
The exhibition area of the XXL Experience Truck allows young apprentices to interact directly with the latest innovations from the global brand for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen faucets. GROHE trainers are there to help, advise and share manufacturer know-how as well as tips and tricks. The special highlight: Almost all of the products are water-bearing and can be tried under real conditions while under professional guidance.
The competition takes place from 22 to 27 August and, with more than 1,600 participants, it is one of the most important events for young professionals this year. In addition to plumbing professionals, young people from various industries will compete against each other while in Kazan. All of them are among the best apprentices who have qualified in regional preliminary events to take part in the international competition, hoping to win a medal. For the contest category “Sanitary Products”, GROHE provides a selection of innovations, such as the rough-in Rapido SmartBox or the one-hand mixer Concetto, which participants can utilise for their task.
Every two years, the WorldSkills Competition takes place in a different location, providing industry, political and educational leaders with an opportunity to discuss trends and best practices about topics related to the craft and education industry.
