Caring about water efficiency for 25 years
Striving for the highest levels of sustainability is an integral part of GROHE‘s DNA. GROHE consistently pursues a 360-degree sustainability approach that incorporates employees, suppliers, customers, processes, products and social responsibility in equal measure.
In the field of sustainability, GROHE identified its essential areas of activity back in 2000. These areas were based on various fundamentals like the 16 principles for sustainable development of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in 1992.
As part of LIXIL, GROHE´s sustainability strategy is based on LIXIL´s Impact Strategy and its three strategic pillars. This is how we contribute to the company's purpose of making better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere.

Additional information
1 Environmental Action Germany (DUH) based on a family of four
2 This calculation example is based on the following parameters:
- Household of 4 people showering each 7 minutes daily // using each the basin mixer 5 minutes daily of shower time per person per day.
The costs are based on the following estimate:
- Energy cost (electricity) 0,289 €/kWh,
- Water cost (without waste water) 0,0035€/litre.
- Assumption of flow rates (measured flow at 3 bar pressure):
- Old product flow rates: 12 l/min for shower // 8 l/min for basin mixer
- New product flow rates: 7.4 l/min for shower // 5 l/min for basin mixer
- New shower product is equipped with water-saving EcoJoy technology // basin mixer with EcoJoy & EcoMode
GROHE does not guarantee the accuracy and correctness of the results, as the calculation depends on many unforeseeable factors and is therefore non-binding. In particular, it depends on water and energy prices, consumer behaviour and the technical installations on site.
