GROHE sponsors World Architecture Festival

World first: Coloured Rainshower Icon at architecture event

One of the largest architecture events of the year: the World Architecture Festival (WAF) is taking place 4th to 6th November in Barcelona. GROHE, European market leader for sanitary fittings is the event’s main sponsor and establishes direct contact with architects and planners here. As an absolute world first GROHE will be exhibiting the handheld shower head Rainshower Icon, awarded with design prizes, in six different colours. The exceptional limited edition will be available for the first time exclusively at the World Architecture Festival.

The World Architecture Festival opens its doors for the second time this year. Top achievements of the world’s best architects completed between January 2008 and June 2009 will be shown at the Centre Convencions International Barcelona. The subject of this year’s competition is based on climate change and is “Less Does More”.

Hundreds of architects from 67 countries have submitted their projects. The spectrum of buildings ranges from a treetop restaurant in New Zealand to a space age high school in Los Angeles to Wimbledon Centre Court in London. The high profile international judging panel concentrates on 15 categories which cover office buildings, private houses, hospitals or event halls for culture and sport. The winning entry receives the title World Building of the Year 2009.

World first in limited numbers

GROHE has produced sanitary products for over 70 years. These products are impressive in quality, design and technology and are chosen by architects worldwide for their properties. As a main sponsor of the festival the company will be presenting its current product highlights and product solutions on an area of 100 square meters at the largest sponsor booth. An absolute world premier is the handheld shower head Rainshower Icon awarded with the “red dot: best of the best” offering spray former and EcoButton in six different colours. Individual and colourful the coloured versions can be matched to any bathroom design and the user’s personality. Only 1100 of these handheld shower heads have been produced so far and visitors will be able to purchase these exclusively at the GROHE booth at the World Architecture Festival. With an on-the-spot survey GROHE will be able to determine which colour of this limited edition is the most popular among architects.

And GROHE will be offering festival visitors from all over the world even more. They can, for example, sample the delicious water from the GROHE Blue® System and get to know the modular collection GROHE Ondus Digitecture™ which allows the architects creative freedom and straightforward planning with its rectangular glass tiles and high quality GROHE products. Other products which are very popular in the project business and will be on display at the festival are part of the lines GROHE Ondus®, Veris, Atrio and Allure. Visitors have the opportunity to view the products in detail and be personally advised on how to integrate them into their new upcoming award-winning projects.
