GROHE presents its new Reference Book titled “Water Enjoyment Volume 3” and a corresponding iPad® app
Following on from the great success of the first two editions of
“Water Enjoyment”, GROHE has presenting the third edition of its
Reference Book as well as a like-named GROHE app at the ISH 2013
trade show in Frankfurt, Germany.
Comprising far in excess of 200 pages, the book presents iconic architectural projects incorporating GROHE water fittings. Selected from the hotel, residential, commercial, sports and leisure, healthcare, transport as well as education and science sectors, the projects explore the interplay of design, technology and sustainability. Many of the buildings are distinguished by well thought-through ecological solutions and many have already garnered design prizes. Award-winning projects featured in the book include the Exchange Hotel in Amsterdam styled by young interior designers Matthijs van Cruijsen and Ina Meijer as well as the avant-garde Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom hotel built by Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel.
“We are excited to see our ‘Water Enjoyment’ publication attract almost as much attention from the architect and designer community as the fantastic images it presents,” says David J. Haines, CEO of Grohe AG. The fact that many iconic buildings incorporate our products illustrates the highly successful work done by our Düsseldorf-based design team.”

Focus on people and sustainability
Apart from showcasing exceptional architecture, the latest edition
of “Water Enjoyment” puts the focus on people, for example by
introducing readers to the GROHE Jal Academy. This installers’
training school attached to the Don Bosco Learning Center in
Mumbai, India, runs a successful programme to turn disadvantaged
youths into skilled installers. Social engagement and sustainable
management of key environmental resources are the key topics in an
interview with architect Koen Olthuis who talks of his vision of
replacing third world slums with cost-efficient floating urban
structures. In his contribution, architect Paul Finch advocates
sensitivity to cultural and climate differences and discusses the
globalisation trend in contemporary architecture.

GROHE app gives access to architectural masterpieces around the world
The new interactive “Water Enjoyment” app affords fascinating
insights into high-profile projects realised around the globe.
Impressive photos from all three GROHE Reference Books, many
additional pictures of the projects and video content bring these
stunning buildings to life. The app offers inspiration and
practical assistance for architects, interior designers, planners
or simply consumers who appreciate great designs. Projects can be
looked at individually or by choosing to view the latest
highlights. The user can scroll through a large selection and
discover the architectural story, floor plans, sketches, press
releases, an extended photo gallery and lots of new video
interviews and supplementary information. Additionally, one is able
to see what GROHE products are installed and can download the
details for his or her own specifications.
The app is initially available to iPad® users via the Apple iTunes Store ("GROHE References").
